Today the doodlebugs had so much fun with our Watch Dog,  Mr. Adams.(Haley's dad) We also enjoyed learning about compound words. :) Make sure to ask your child what compound words they know!

Silent Auction Basket

Just a reminder, but this is the last week to donate items for the Silent Auction Basket. This is a big fundraiser for PTA, so if you are able to donate something it would be greatly appreciated. (A few items to keep in mind, chocolate/strawberry syrup, sprinkles, ice cream scoops/bowls, cones, toppings,  gift card for ice cream, ect.) If you don't have time to do the shopping, feel free to send in money, and one of our room parents, Jennifer Adams (Haley's mom), will do the shopping for you! Thank you so much for your help with this.

Hope everyone had a wonderful, long weekend!

We appreciate your help with this! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Have a great weekend.

Thank you,

100th Day of School

We have had so much fun on the 100th day of school! Here are a few pictures of some of the fun things we did...

We were surprised with streamers and glittery 100th day pencils when we came in to help us with our "secret code" for morning work.

100 smarties...

100 "googly" eyes...

100 valentines...

100 "blinging" things...

We had to figure out the secret code when we came in...

Happy 100th Day of School!

Max and Donavan making their 100th day snacks...(thank you again to everyone who contributed)

Race to find 100 words!

Life in 100 Days interview...(I will be sending these home in their books at the end of the year, and they will also be up outside our wall next week if you plan on attending the Valentines Day Party)

Making Text to Self Connections

Yesterday we read the story, The Penguin Who Wanted to Fly. After we read the story, students were to make a "text-to-self connection" by writing about something they wished they could do. (Making connections while reading helps us to better understand the story.)

Science on the Move

Today, a few 6th graders came in and taught us about the Earth's layers. We learned a fun new song, and loved making the Earth's crust with oreos!

Thank You!

A big thank you to all of the parents and "doodlebugs" that came to Chili's night last night! It was so great to see everyone. :)
